I have quite a few of his books, and used many of the recipes. His book "The Frugal Gourmet Cooks American" has a section on the Pennsylvanian Germans (Pennsylvanis Dutch - that's part of my ancestry). When I bought it, I had a real fit because most of the recipes are verbatim from an old cookbook that I got from my grandmother! I was so ticked, I wrote to the publisher. Of course, I never heard back. *grumble*
